Hillcrest’s HTV Magazine wins 18th news broadcast award at NSPA

Hillcrest High School's HTV Magazine was one of six scholastic news broadcasts to win the 2025 National Scholastic Press Association's (NSPA) Pacemaker Award at the Journalism Education Association (JEA)/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism competition Nov. 13-16 in Nashville, TN.
“This is a huge honor for our program and one of the top recognitions we can receive in the nation,” said Hillcrest Teacher and HTV Advisor Rae Snobl. “This is a special moment for me as this is Hillcrest's 18th NSPA Pacemaker award, and I was on the staff of our very first one in 1995. It's a full circle moment, and I am very proud to continue the tradition with our students.”
Only five high school programs received this award in the U.S. this year, and Hillcrest is the only Missouri school. The judging is based on three shows from the 2024-25 school year — one from fall semester, one from spring semester and one wild card show of the school’s choice.
